* - the sound of elwood’s laughter has laughter bubbling within siah as well –– the other’s laugh is contagious, his happiness radiates. for that, he’s grateful; as on his own, siah’s a whole awkward, stumbling mess. daily, he makes a fool of himself, but he’s determined to make his interaction with elwood as far from embarrassing as he can possibly get. elwood is one that siah’s always wanted to impress, and he figures that stumbling over his words and making unfunny jokes and being, well –– himself, isn’t the way to do that.
‘ ever the heartbreaker, huh? it’s okay, i’ll live. miserably. i’ll never smile again, but i’ll live. ‘ siah’s tone oozes sarcasm.
‘ a hug ? what the fuck does this look like ? neither of us are crying, no need to get all sentimental … ‘ he scrunches his nose in mock disgust, and before a full beat can pass, he’s speaking again. ‘ i’m kidding. please hug me. ‘
he wonders when it was the last time he heard siah laugh, and as it rings around his ears, he promises himself that he’ll do all he can to make sure he’s only ever laughing and smiling with him. too many times elwood has made an enemy of people he cares about for the sake of keeping himself safe from harm, but this time, he thinks, he wouldn’t mind letting his walls down for someone. he soon finds himself smirking again, shrugging his shoulders, nonchalant. his words might be sarcastic, but there’s an arrogance there all too real.
❛ what can i say? look at me, i don’t think either of us blame them. ❜ pausing, elwood offers him a blank stare, brow raising. ❛ cry me a river, darlin’. ❜
at his words, a laugh is shocked out of him – and for once in his life, he does as he’s told. stepping forward, elwood fists siah’s shirt to tug him closer, wrapping his arms around his shoulders ; chin tucked on the boy’s head. ❛ fuckin’ tosser. ❜
