
he can’t say that he’s felt any happier these days, but it’s moreso a case of he’s stopped caring enough that he can forget about how sad he once was. now, largely, the majority of what he feels toward people is indifference - at least that way, he figures, it avoids any possibility of inevitable hurt. elwood hadn’t expected ( nor wanted ) to speak to anyone today, but then there’s a voice all too familiar calling out for him, and ( forever one for dramatics ) he thinks his stomach drops and his heart rate simultaneously increases tenfold. turning slowly, the boy merely looks at him for a little while ; after all, it’s been over a year, and though he could once call the man before him his best friend, now he hardly even recognises him.
